ABOUT IMPROV
Improvisation, or improv, is a form of live theatre in which the plot, characters and dialogue of a game, scene or story are made up in the moment. Often improvisers will take a suggestion from the audience, or or draw on some other source of inspiration to get started.
Improv is unique in that if you see a performance, that’s it… there will never be another show exactly like it ever done again. Improv is different every time.
Improvised shows can differ between different improv troupes, depending on their training, their goals, and their style. Sometimes improv is purely comedy-based, while other times it can be a mix of both comedy and drama, or just drama. Like scripted theatre – without the script, with the actors acting, directing themselves, writing the plot, and interacting with each other all at the same time without previous planning.
Improv is spontaneous, entertaining, and fun. But like all great things, you’ll have to see it first hand to fully experience and appreciate it.

OUR HISTORY
OKC Improv was founded in December, 2009 by co-producers Marcy Fleming, Buck Vrazel, Clint Vrazel, and Eric Webb. All four have been active in the local improv scene since 2000.
Rising stars of the national improv scene, twin brothers Buck and Clint Vrazel have been performing and teaching improv for 11 years and were co-founders of and performers with O.U. Improv!, Red Dirt Improv and are co-creators and current members of Twinprov, The Ones Your Mother Warned You About, Fortune's Fools, and Villain: The Musical. Clint Vrazel was the artistic director for O.U. Improv and Red Dirt Improv. Buck and Clint have performed and taught at theaters and festivals around the country.
By creating an improv hot spot, audiences are discovering a wide range of talent and different improv styles and troupes that had operated independently of each other for years are now working together to promote a larger scene and individual performers have come together to create brand new groups.
By providing ongoing publicity, top quality education programs and frequent performance opportunities, OKC Improv has directly contributed to the growth of the Oklahoma improv scene. In the past 22 months, the number of active performance groups in the metro has increased from 5 to 35 with the promise of more groups and projects to be developed during the course of the next year.
We have taught over 175 classes, graduating 6 sections of Adult Level 1 and Level 2 Classes, 2 sections of Level 3, and 8 Middle School Classes. We have also held 3 community jams that provide networking opportunities for area performers in an informal performance atmosphere.
Since debuting on December 4, 2009, OKC Improv has entertained over 3,500 people at over 100 shows (more than half of which were sold out) with over 40 different acts from OKC, Stillwater, Tulsa, Tahlequah, Dallas, and Austin.
