OKC Improv, Oklahoma's premier showcase for improvisational comedy and theater, begins its Winter 2012 Run at Ghostlight Theatre Club (3110 N Walker) with two awesome shows this Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 8pm and 10pm. Weekly performances continue through February 4, 2012. Tickets are $10 each. $5 for improvisers and improv students. Admission is FREE if you're celebrating your birthday with us! Reservations are strongly encouraged and can be made via E-Mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 405.343.1570. For more information go to http://www.okcimprov.com.
At 8pm we've got OKC-based short form group Take One Improv followed by Magician and Mentalist William Rader who will wow the audience with his incredible feats of mind reading! OKC's longest running comedy troupe Everybody and Their Dog will close out the 8pm show by telling an improvised story full of colorful offbeat characters.
At 10pm, Good Cop/Nice Cop open the show with their original Armando-style long form that centers on a mock interrogation. Next, Austin-based duo Jorak and Jorak Do Movie will reenact a movie with a distinct Russian flair. Comedy nerd-pop-folk-rock-hiphop band The Memepunks closes out show.
In addition to our normal Saturday improv classes, Shane McClure of Everybody and Their Dog and Fortune's Fools will be teaching an advanced improv workshop on Stage Combat from 12-3pm on Sunday, January 8 at Ghostlight Theatre Club (3110 N Walker, OKC). Cost is $20. Other advanced workshops (listed below) follow weekly through February 5. Limited spaces available. To reserve a seat in any of the advanced workshops call (405) 343-1570 or e-mail email@example.com. For more info. on classes and workshops go to: www.okcimprov.com/p/classes.
