Also returning are established audience favorites C-4, Everybody and Their Dog, The MiDolls, The Ones Your Mother Warned You About, Red Letters, Twinprov and Villain: The Musical.
Having just recently returned from an acclaimed performance at the Chicago Improv Festival that earned them the headlining slot at this year’s Improvaganza: The Hawaii Festival of Improv in September, Twinprov will be hitting the road this summer representing Oklahoma at Festivals in Colorado (with Villain: The Musical), Minneapolis and Austin. Red Letters will be doing the same at Duofest in Philadelphia. You’ll still be able to see all three groups during the upcoming run.
The 8pm show on July 9 will see the debut of a brand new super troupe called Locust Pocus made up of five of Oklahoma’s best improvisers: Alyssa and Bryan Buckley of Red Letters, Buck and Clint Vrazel of Twinprov, Villain: The Musical, The Ones Your Mother Warned You About, Fortunes Fools, et al. and Raychel Winstead of Villain, The Ones, The MiDolls and Two’s Company.
The Summer 2011 Run will also feature 4 different student troupes from around the state. Students from OKC Improv’s Spring Level 1 & 2 classes taught by Artistic Directors Buck and Clint Vrazel will open the run at 8pm on June 18. The next week at 8pm, The Newbs, taught by Rory Littleton (Everybody and Their Dog), will make their OKC Improv debut followed by the return of Kind of a Big Deal taught by Jodi Nestander (The MiDolls, Two’s Company). Northeastern State University-based Homemade Fireworks under the direction of Alyssa and Bryan Buckley (Red Letters) will make their OKC Improv debut on July 9 at 8pm.

The event will be hosted by one of Oklahoma’s most respected comedians Brad Chad Porter. Porter and Skaggs are both members of OKC Comedy, OKC Improv’s sister organization, devoted to promoting local stand-up comedy as well as bringing in some of the biggest names in stand-up to OKC to perform.
OKC Improv will begin a new session of weekly improv classes for adults starting Saturday, June 18, 2011, continuing through July 23 at Ghostlight Theatre Club (3110 N Walker, OKC).
