Join us for an exciting night of performances this Saturday as we close out another successful run of OKC Improv, Oklahoma's first and only ongoing showcase of local and regional improvisational comedy and theater!











At 8pm Stillwater's own Cueless will be returning to the OKC Improv stage followed by the always impressive and entertaining Villain: The Musical.










At 10pm The MiDolls, Oklahoma's first all-female improv group, continue their conquest of the world with a nun-themed show followed by a new Twinprov show called Rap-City, in which the Vrazel brothers merge story-telling with hip-hop beats.

OKC Improv will be dark in May and early June while Ghostlight Theatre Club produces [title of show], but we'll be back on June 26 with all new shows and returning favorites!

OKC Improv will be hosting the Texas-based Megaphone Comedy Tour on Friday, April 23 at 8pm at Ghostlight Theatre Club (3110 N. Walker, OKC).

The Megaphone is comprised of Dallas & Austin, TX based comedians Amanda Austin, Chris Trew, Clay Barton and Tami Nelson. Together the four own, operate, perform and teach at two of the most notable comedy nerve centers in Texas, The Dallas Comedy House and The New Movement Theater in Austin. They also recently produced the highly successful Dallas Comedy Festival in March.

OKC comedy duo and Twinprov, comprised of twin brothers Buck and Clint Vrazel accompanied by keyboardist Stephanie Bidelspach, will open for Megaphone. Following the Megaphone show Twinprov and Megaphone's Chris Trew (aka rapper Terp2it) will throw down with other local improvisers in a freestyle rap jam.

Megaphone's Tami Nelson will be teaching a workshop for local improvisers before the show from 5-7pm focusing on the straight/absurd comedy dynamic. The goal of the workshop is to help improvisers learn how to establish characters, shape and heighten the scene, and play off each other using the straight/absurd dynamic. Through exercises and scene work, the improvisers will work on pacing and reactions, experiment with emotional choices, learn to better feed each other information, and clearly communicate intention in the scene. The cost is $15 per person.

According to Janet Patterson of The Edmond Sun, “Ghostlight Theatre Club’s intimate atmosphere, with its small stage and cash bar, is a perfect setting for the unabashed adult entertainment OKC Improv provides. It’s affordable, interactive and an interesting alternative to traditional scripted theater.”

Then on Saturday, April 24 at 8pm, OKC Improv is proud to host Tulsa's premiere comedy troupe, Crayons Improv! Edmond teen improv group The To Be Announced Players will open.

We're very excited to have two debuts at OKC Improv this week!

First, we'll be welcoming to the stage our first out-of-state act, The Victims, from Dallas, TX. Based out of The Alternative Comedy Theater, The Victims have been bringing highly theatrical unscripted comedic mayhem to the world since 2006. They perform regularly at Pocket Sandwich Theater, WaterTower Theater, and The Dyer and have been featured in improv theaters and festivals around the country.

After The Victims, OKC's newest (and possibly hottest) improv troupe The MiDolls will have their debut performance. Comprised of some of the metro's best improvisers, Oklahoma's first all-female improv troupe, will be serving up some groundbreaking comedy to the OKC Improv audience.

Due to a double-booking at the theater there will only be one 10:30pm show this week. It's going to be one heck of a show, though!

Come out to the late show this Saturday night to see the awesome improvisational might of O.U. Improv! and Red Dirt Improv! Both groups specialize in a variety of short, long, and musical improv.











We're proud to have these groups out to perform as both have played huge roles in building the OKC improv scene over the last ten years and both continue to be committed to doing innovative new forms. Red Dirt Improv is also the producer of Improv Festival Oklahoma, in its second year, taking place this August!
