OKC Improv, Oklahoma's premier showcase for improvisational comedy and theater, continues its Winter 2012 Run at Ghostlight Theatre Club (3110 N Walker) with two awesome shows this Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 8pm and 10pm. At 8pm we've got short form improv group The Newbs followed by the one-man show “It’s Momma” created by and starring OKC actor/improviser Rory Littleton (Everybody and Their Dog) inspired by the many strong female influences in his life. The 8pm closes out with the world premiere of OKC's newest long-form variety troupe, Ballpark Theatre Company, as they present "A Night at the Movies" a long form narrative performed in a film style suggested by the audience.

The 10pm kicks off with some short form improv courtesy of NSU student troupe Homemade Fireworks, under the direction of Bryan and Alyssa Buckley (Red Letters) followed by the dynamic and playful character-driven comedy of one of the state's premiere troupes, husband and wife duo Red Letters. The show closes out with the Oklahoma debut of Seattle-based Puppet Crush, who with some help from local improvisers will be performing improvised scenes and stories with puppets!

In addition to our normal Saturday improv classes, Elizabeth Westermann of Puppet Crush will be teaching an advanced improv workshop on "Puppet Improv" from 12-3pm on Sunday, January 29 at Ghostlight Theatre Club (3110 N Walker, OKC). Cost is $30. Other advanced workshops (listed below) follow weekly through February 5. Limited spaces available. At 8pm Edmond-based teen group Kind of a Big Deal kick things off with some long form improv followed by the return of the generation-spanning comedy of Two's Company as they create an entire fictional family history inspired by a single photograph from the audience. The 8pm closes out with the jazzy relationship-driven comedy of The Ones Your Mother Warned You About.

At 10pm, its the world premiere of the politically charged duo One State Two State Red State Blue State made up of Tim Huckeby & Kellen Hodgeson followed by the long form improv of the recently re-christened Hindsight Improv (formerly Wingin' It). The 10pm closes with the world premiere of Off-Book: Musical Morsels, the new musical longform from the cast of Villain: the Musical that features shorter stand along scenes and songs tied together by a common theme.
